Volodja Balžalorsky was a soloist and concertmaster with the Freiburg Baroque Soloists from 1999 to 2000.

Volodja Balžalorsky, from Ljubljana, Slovenia, performs internationally as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.

Numerous highly acclaimed concerts, radio broadcasts, CD and TV recordings in various countries have established his reputation as an artist with a sensitive, intelligent and intuitive interpretative gift, a refined technique and a rich, full tone.

Volodja is particularly active in the field of chamber music. He collaborates with many international groups and ensembles.

He has long-standing partnerships with several musicians, including the pianists Christoph Theiler, Hinko Haas, Aleksandar Serdar and Peter Caelen, the percussionist Amy Lynne Barber, and his fellow members of the Amael Trio:the pianist Tatjana Ognjanovic, later the pianist Zoltan Peter and the cellist Damir Hamidullin.

He has been honoured with several international music awards for his artistic achievements:

He is a two-time winner and four-time nominee of the Independent Music Awards.
